FREE TAX PREPARATION

United Way Fresno and Madera Counties provides free tax preparations to low- and moderate-income individuals, families, and seniors. Tax returns are prepared by trained and IRS-certified volunteers at local community organizations. Last season, our free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has returned over $11.5 million to the Valley’s working class.

Make your Free Tax Prep appointment by calling 211 or texting TAXES to 211-211. If you are in Madera, you can call toll-free at 866-559-4211. Bring the items listed here to your appointment.

TAX CREDITS

You may also qualify for other tax credits, like the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC). CalEITC is a cash-back credit that puts money back into the pockets of California’s working families and individuals. Find out more about CalEITC here.
